In my field, inappropriate use includes the use of photos, video, and audio recordings of published music without receiving permission to use them. Posting photo of sheet music when it needs to be purchased, posting video of a concert, recording audio of a published piece and using within the classroom without purchase is all an infraction. Giving appropriate credit for source material in front of students is the best recourse to teach them appropriate use - especially when so much can be "downloaded". Artists make money by consumers purchasing their photos, video, or audio - pirating is a big problem and with students thinking downloads are so easy, they forget that it is not appropriate usage without purchase or credit.
