I think today many/most people prefer to communicate quickly and easily through email or text. I think this is a great way to communicate with parents for one. Teachers can communicate through email rather than send notes, can communicate concerns over behavior or grades. Although I find over the phone or in person when there are great concerns.
I also think that as students get older and can obtain access to google docs assignments can be submitted.
