inappropriate use of digital media

It is very easy to be misread (in either a good or bad direction) when reading a message (text, email, FB).  It's hard to find a balance between typing a response so there's documentation of the conversation, yet also being clear on the 'tone' of the message.  It's very easy to add our own (usually negative) tone into a message, which obviously alters the intended message.  I've seen people have disagreements through digital means, that would have been much better handled over the phone at minimum.
