When my daughter was an 8th grader her "boyfriend" sent her an inappropriate picture of himself to her cell phone. She freaked out and deleted it right away. This then caused a firestorm of issues dealing with how to tell the family what happened and how they then dealt with the problem. Kids don't think through what they are doing and believe that if they delete something that it is gone, but it is not.
