Educate, educate, educate. Social media, online resources can all be VERY positive and educational, as long as people (students) are using it properly. If students in particular are taught how to use their cell phone properly, there should not be issues at school, during class, hanging out with their friends, etc. Again, they can be such great tools, but just need to be taught and used properly. Our school just had an internet safety presentation to the 5-12 student body and open session at night for the parents about 2 years ago, we are already planning the next. It is important to stay on top of this topic and continually educate all about the safety.
