Using the settings options to sort incoming email by "unread first" and "everything else," students could be more organized and less likely to miss important announcements and progress reports. I have been spending more time teaching students to organize in gmail (calendars, tasks, labels) and less time with paper planners and lists that get lost. It is also helpful for parents to be able to find everything in one place that requires attention.
