I love this lesson.  It allows students creativity but keeps the specifics of basic art vocabulary (line, negative space etc..) to asses students understanding of the terms you were teaching.  Students can directly relate to this musical as it is very popular right now.  It is simple, allowing only 4 colors to be used within one media which allows students to focus on the art terms and not all the "stuff" to create their piece.
