Brett,  I like your mention of being open minded when making curriculum connections.  As teachers we need to approach our teaching standards as such, keeping in mind that how we teach the standard is not set in stone.  Therefore if we can/should use art integration, or at the least arts enhancement, and in effect we are further allowing our students to make connections with the content and giving them multiple pathways for success.
