Thinking at a deeper level, YES... higher order thinking skills are my thing.  I want my students to learn to think for themselves and not be afraid to take chances.  I like VTS for the the simple fact that it helps instill in them that they need to not be afraid to look into something and share what they think.  One of the videos or the article mentioned that he students run into the pitfall of "what am I supposed to think" in terms to artwork, and not the "How it makes me feel" or "What I see".  I want my students to not look at me as the authority on a subject and instead look for themselves.
