I art term I learned was frottage but I realised I had knowledge of the activity and have used it in my classroom I simply didn't know it had a specific name.

I already knew about the colorwheel and primary and secondary colors.  Not to mention line, shape and texture.

How to apply: I would teach my first graders about texture and use frottage on an outdoor nature walk or even indoors.  The students could make a journal entry in their science notebook.  This activity teaches them art and writing skills as well as nurturing their fine motor skills.
