I have Facebook and Instagram, I only friend people I personally know but I know students do not think that way, it is more about how many friends you have then if you really "know" them.  I also do not think students think about their privacy settings and what online predators use to figure out who they are or where they live.  I teach at a middle school and we are going 1:1 next year, I need to teach my student internet safety so that I am confident that they are safe on the internet!
