An example of this is being the recipient of multiple text messages from an acquaintance late in the evening.  They were not emergent in nature and the sender was very upset that there was not a rapid response, even though the recipient had gone to sleep for the night and was not checking their device.  'Do Not Disturb' features and showing sender if the recipient has silenced notifications have helped this, however people need to exercise good etiquette when communicating digitally in the evening.
