I have an account for school through gmail and I like it.  It is nice to have a school only email compared to giving parents my personal email.  I have been using the gmail account for three years now and I like that I can search for an email by a person's name or specific word.  We also use Google docs which is amazing for not having a ton of paper copies of things and we can access them anywhere.  

Also, I have my own personal account with gmail which I like and use more than my other accounts with various providers.
