What can exploring art do for enhancing and developing career skills?
-Exploring art can give kids an outlet in life. It can allow them to show how they are feeling without saying any words. Art can give students who struggle in other areas a way to thrive. I think that when people allow themselves to be creative and try artistic things it allows them to struggle and except the creations that they were able to make. Not everyone is great at art but everyone can be good at art. Everyone can do there best and try their best. Art is all about perspective and excepting the creation that is in front of you. That is huge when you think of developing career skills. With every job there will come struggle and when you except what is at hand and begin to except it you begin to thrive.
What types of technologies have you used that shares a link with art? Include at least one link to a technology that could be used in the classroom.
-I teach kindergarten so trying to get all 24 kindergarteners on the computer at one time is extremely difficult. Trying to get one kindergarten to get on a computer and not have questions is even difficult at times. One website that I enjoyed using with my kiddos is Storybird. This app allows students to create a story using different pictures. When we were first working on learning how to read a book we discussed the importance of reading pictures. I used storybird to create a story using pictures and as a class we came up with different ideas of what was happening in the pictures. I then let each of my students create their own story. Now this took a LONG time to get all of the kids pulled back individually but they kids loved being creative with what was happening in the pictures and sharing their stories with the class.

-I loved the video about the "Drawing with Thread." I really loved how it gave two different ways to complete the project. There are so many cool projects and art works but they are often times geared towards older students. This video allowed me as a kindergarten teacher to see first hand how I could complete this with my students. I also liked the art of music topic. In the morning I would play pop kids music to wake my kids up and get them excited about the day to come. During out Daily Five rotations I would play classical music and I can sense a shift within my students. My kids calm down for that amount of time and they all focus on the task at hand. Now this did take a lot of training but I truly think the music was a huge reason why the kids calmed down during that time.
