Cycles of Matter

Molly Fox
Well, this assessment was WAY easier for me than the first one.  I got a 19/20 and felt confident the entire time I was taking it.  Cycle of matter just seem to make more sense.  There isn't as much vocabulary to remember and it's not so specific like zygote from the last assessment.  I'm not sure I really learned anything from taking this except that I'm excited for this module.  I think for students, these types of assessments do not truly show what they know.  It would be helpful to have explain boxes to really be able to see what misconceptions there are or if the students is just taking a good guess.  I also believe for some of the questions it would have been helpful to see the diagrams instead of just words.  This content seems perfect for using models and diagrams in science notebooks.

I like your thought of using visuals.  I am a visual learning and it can be helpful for that modality of learning.

I agree - I think having opportunities for students to explain their thinking more would be a better way to assess understanding!
