The standard I chose is K-PS3-1. This standard states that students who demonstrate understanding can make observations to determine the effects of sunlight on Earth's surface.
SEP: Analyzing and Interpreting Data: Students need to determine the effects of sunlight through their observations. Students can organize their observations in a table or display it using a graph. Students should learn how to present and evaluate data.
DCI: Energy in Chemical Processes & Everyday Life: Students should understand that energy is neither created or destroyed but is converted. Most of the energy is delivered to our planet from the sun and is harvested through the process of photosynthesis.
CC: Energy and Matter: Flows, Cycles, and Conservation and Cause and Effect: Students are looking at both the effect of sunlight on Earth's surface and the flows and cycles of energy.
