3-LS1-1. Develop models to describe that organisms have unique and diverse life cycles but all have in common birth, growth, reproduction, and death.

SEP: Develop & Use Models
Students can share their mental model by developing a physical model. These models are used to answer questions and are tested. Students could draw a diagram representing each stage of the organism. These diagrams could be based off of their own knowledge.

Disciplinary Core Idea: Growth & Development
Students will develop their knowledge of growth which is get bigger and development which means changes. Students will show this knowledge in their diagram.

Crosscutting Concept: Patterns
Life cycles are patterns. Patterns are used to make predictions and evaluate. Students will be able to recognize the life cycle patterns.
