This is the social media outlet I use most for my band program.  I have a band account for all members and parents to join and use it as a communication tool on upcoming events, classroom pictures etc.  I follow many groups on my personal account.  For me the best group I belong to is the Band Directors Group . It consist of thousands of band directors from across the country and we discuss many topics on teaching, issues with parents, other logistics and at times is used to vent.  Venting is not a good purpose for this group but sometimes it is nice to know that other teachers from different parts of the country face the same frustrations as you do, or you realize that my job isn't as bad as that persons.  I also am in a few different music education groups on for beginning band, and one for elementary music.  In my opinion being in the facebook groups is more beneficial for me than sitting in an all school inservice.
