Facebook

Facebook can be used in so many ways.  The most obvious way is to keep in touch with family and friends all over the world.  There are many other uses for Facebook though.  Want to sell something?  Whether it is children's clothes, a tv stand or a used bike there are several for sale groups you can join.  Two local for sale groups that I use are Cedar Valley For Sale and Sell and Swap.  With these sites, you can post an item you want to sell or look at what other people are selling.  
As I was exploring new groups for this class I came across one called Cedar Valley Fun For Kids that I just joined.  I am excited to see what things will be posted there that I can do with my children.
Facebook could also easily be used in the education world.  A person could create a secret group for the parents of the students in his/her classroom or a group for the teachers in the school.
