Keeping up with the happenings in my local/world community, particularly appealing ideas for middle schoolers (my favorite area) is tough but some of the following sites help:
(1) Teacher learning through AEA on Facebook; (2) World/local news, documentaries, etc. through IBPN; (3) Des Moines Science Center events; (4) Des Moines Public School events (where I sub).
