What can exploring art do for enhancing and developing career skills?
Thinking artistically allows a person to think creatively. This means they will be able to adapt and change to a dynamic world. As a teacher you are always having to think on your feet. Art is about expression and creativity, which lends itself very well to the teaching profession.
What types of technologies have you used that share a link with art? Include at least one link to a technology that could be used in the classroom.
I have always loved using Mac Movie Maker. This easy to use, free software is one of my favorite tools for the classroom. I have used Movie Maker for social studies, science and even math. There are a variety of project ideas online that you can use to apply Movie Maker to almost any subject area. And...as a bonus the students love making movies.
What are your "takeaways" from the article and videos?
I think my biggest take away and something that I would love to use with my spec ed students is the idea of “drawing music”. My students always need to practice explaining their thinking. Using this technique will be very effective.
