What can exploring art do for enhancing and developing career skills?
-It can help students and individuals feel more successful especially when they are not as successful in academics. It could also turn them onto other ways of learning so then can be successful and self learners through different avenues.
What types of technologies have you used that shares a link with art? Include at least one link to a technology that could be used in the classroom.
-In the classroom, we use Chromebook a lot for students to learn math, reading typing, sounds in a different way. I also use a promethean board that students can come up to show their answer and how they got an answer to the rest of the class. This is helpful when it is difficult for students to express how they did something. For the arts, we have use tuxpaint.org where students can create their own pieces of art. We have also used
music lab for students to create their own beats and music.
What are your "takeaways" from the article and videos?
-One thing that really stood out to me was that the integration of the arts into all subjects areas can be a very positive thing to do for students successes, especially students that struggle. All students need to feel successful in something to keep the drive to wanting to learn alive. It makes me want to spend more time on how I can connect more art/music/performance art for my students so they can always feel successful. Students always feel more engaged when they are able to do work with their hands and show it off to others. Making sure your class is a safe place for students to show off their work would have to be done first though.
