Exploring art promotes critical thinking, open mindedness and wonder. To be successful in life and in the world a person needs to be confident in their ability to solve problems and question things in order to find answers. When developing career skills it is important to know that your knowledge and personal experiences are part of how you reason through things and decide on the approaches you will take to achieve goals. Creative and visual thinking through art will promote these skills that are then transferred into all aspects of life.

During online learning and even in the classroom for visual learning I have used google classroom to post slides and links to assignments.  I have a Bitmoji character that looks like me to help make online assignments interesting and catchy to the eye. Using lots of color, shapes and pictures is another way that I use art to present my instructions. Pear Deck is another great way to use pictures and visuals to enhance online learning and promote creativity and interest. Students are more engaged when information looks fun and they can connect with it. https://www.peardeck.com/templates.

My greatest take away is that children are all unique and teachers need to be sure to provide ways to learn for everyone. That means incorporating all kinds of techniques and experiences. Children are visual learners and need engagement to be effective performers. Making connections to what they are presented is important for building confidence and to foster understanding. Integrating technology is important and can be used to gets kids engaged but it can also help increase academic achievement for diverse learners, a teacher needs to understand the child in order to provide best practice. Students with disabilities can use drawings or movement to express themselves.
