What can exploring art do for enhancing and developing career skills?
The arts have a lot of skills to offer that students are not necessarily exposed to in the standard curriculum. Students can learn to communicate effectively with others, become avid presenters, be attuned to looking at something in a new way or creating new strategies for multiple situations. There are many benefits both academically and for the child's confidence that can be found by being exposed to and studying the arts.
What types of technologies have you used that shares a link with art? Include at least one link to a technology that could be used in the classroom.
One resource I use the most is a Smart Board. This form of technology can be used in multiple settings with art being one of them. Students can be exposed to presentations/videos, photographs and other forms of pictures, music and the elements that surround music, and so much more. It really allows myself as an educator to easily expose my students to different ways to investigate a subject.
What are your "takeaways" from the article and videos?
What I took from the articles and videos the most, was how important the arts can be for students of all different backgrounds and skill levels. By allowing students multiple learning styles like the arts, a larger range of students will be able to learn, grow, and develop many standards of learning, that they may not have been able to if they were limited to how the material was presented to them and how they had to showcase their knowledge of the skills.
