What can exploring art do for enhancing and developing career skills?
I think art is awesome for kids to explore and develop careers that can help the succeed. I like the article that talked about students with special needs and how they are able to express themselves through art, where as other things they aren't able to express themselves and may struggle. I try and include music and art into anything we do to help those learners. We do a lot of alphabet songs and dances to help them connect to the music. Rhythm and dance is great for everyone.
What types of technologies have you used that shares a link with art?
One technology and website I utilize is pinterest
https://www.pinterest.com/, youtube, and promethean board (smart board). I go to pinterest for a lot of ideas and love that it will send you to a link to the actual website. I have found many great kindergarten blogs and websites that give me great ideas for my classroom. I also use youtube for songs and dances. The promethean board is nice for art because i am able to actually write on the board or have students write on the board. We are able to use different tools on the board to enhance their learning.
What are your "takeaways" from the article and videos?
My biggest take away from these video and articles is that every student is different and they learn at their won pace and have different strategies to learn. Incorporating Art, music, and movement into their learning can only benefit most students. You may have students that don't "need" it to help them learn, they just naturally can but adding music and art wont hurt those students, it will only enhance their learning.
