I like to use the NAMLE Key Questions to Ask When Analyzing Media Messages (

I typically screen it, but the page can be shared as a handout. I ask students to analyze advertisements and popular films or television series, and this source can be useful. When it comes to research writing, including the selection of sources, I share the CRAAP Test, available multiple places. I ask students to share one source they have identified and explain which CRAAP Test criterion it meets. Sometimes I have students write annotated bibliographies that include a summary of a source, application of the CRAAP Test, and mention of how the student intends to use the source.
