Pinterest

I know this was not on any of the lists, but I have started using Pinterest in my class and my students love it.  It is an excellent way for students to independently find information and then "Save / Share" it to a communal board for later reference.  My students have used it for both  independent Genius Hour projects as well as group projects. It takes some setting up and explaining but once all is said and done, it's fabulous!

That is such a cool site.  There are so many resources.  Our Industrial Tech class has used it the past few years and our High School English teacher has used it in his class as well.  Plus, I think it helps connecting with students if you are familiar with some of the tools they are using.

I like to use Pinterest with my classes because it's a great place to store Health and Wellness sites and information that I want to share with students.  

I have also used this in class. I have students create a pinterest board about a historical topic. It's kind of like a digital brainstorm. Kids find all sorts of quotes, pictures, videos, and even recipes that relate to their topic. They really get into it, so it can be a great hook into a new topic.

It's great to hear how other educators are successfully using Pinterest in their classrooms.  I think that my middle school students will enjoy exploring ideas and sharing their "finds" with classmates.  From there they can cooperatively plan projects based on similar interests.

I am excited to use Pinterest with my students.  I have used it for quite some time for personal use, including boards with school-related posts!

I absolutely love pinterest. It works so well for all grade levels and for activities at home too.

I have used Pinterest for my personal use but never thought of using it in the classroom. I really enjoyed reading everyone else's responses of how they may use it in project work to gather resources. I will have to think about how I can use it this upcoming school year.
