What can exploring art do for enhancing and developing career skills?\
Art can help students with their creativity. It is important to have a creative side when working in the future. You have to have something to help you stand out. An individual always needs art. Every career uses some type of art. With technology these days, creativity isn’t only with paper and pencil. There are so many programs that use different systems to help with their creativity. For example, a businessman uses their creative mind to create powerpoints. If you do something totally out of the box, it will grab other individuals attention.
What types of technologies have you used that shares a link with art? Include at least one link to a technology that could be used in the classroom.
Every year my students take part in contest for the Catholic Daughters where they can do computer art as one of their mediums of entering instead of just paper and pencil. I found this site
https://sketch.io/sketchpad/. The students love using it They are always asking if we can use it again. This is a free program that anyone can use. A program like this allows the students to be creative with a hint of technology.
What are your "takeaways" from the article and videos?
I loved the thread art lesson. I saved the website so that I can use it with my students later on in the year. It is a more complex project but I can’t wait to see how well the students do with it. I loved seeing how art helped students with learning disabilities feel more self confident. It is important for all students to feel like they can reach an audience and one way to do that is through art. It is a very important aspect in life that all need to learn about. There are so many different types that there is always one for everyone.
