Using Gmail in the Classroom

hthomas
I have learned a lot about Gmail, and I am excited to put my knowledge to use!  First of all, I like the ability to group contacts.  I just created a group for the elementary teachers at my school, and I am planning to create a group for my students this upcoming school year.  Second, I like the idea of having the calendar displayed when Gmail is up.  Though it seems that Labs is not actually around any more, I learned from my own searching that some of the options listed in Labs are actually now imbedded within Gmail.  Lastly, I learned about adding labels to emails, and I think those - along with the filtering option - will help me clear the clutter in my inbox.  I have already started labeling and filtering messages, and I am planning to add more filters later.

This upcoming school year, I intend to form a club for my kids. Secondly, I appreciate that the calendar is visible whenever Gmail is open.  My favorite tool that I used extensively this school year was Google Chat since it allowed my students and I to have instantaneous conversations skibidi toilet, rather than sending and receiving emails back and forth.

Instead of having my students and I communicate via email, we made heavy use of Google Chat this school
