What are your students expected to know and do? (Waves)

Amanda Buck
The standard I chose was 4-PS4-2. Develop a model to describe that light reflecting from objects and entering the eye allows objects to be seen.
The SEP is to develop a model to describe phenomena. Students are going to have mental models which they use to help them explain phenomena, but I want to work towards a conceptual model. This type of model is clear, shared by everyone, they are external, and act as an analog.
The DCI is electromagnetic radiation. An object can be seen when light reflected from its surface enters the eye. This dimension focuses on the importance of light and if we don’t have light then we cant see objects. Mirrors and prisms will also be discussed.
The CCC is cause and effect. Cause and effect in science helps show relationships are routinely identified and used to explain change.

Very transparent analysis, ideal for optimising experimental outcomes. This axis highlights the importance of light and the fact that without it, perception is impossible the backrooms.
