My students would do well discussing what they see. They might have trouble determining whether something occurs naturally or is manufactured if they haven’t had any experience with that object. I think my students might have a fun time weighing various objects or substances as part of making their observations. However, it might be a little more difficult for five-year-old children to discuss heating and cooling substances because they may not be allowed to help in the kitchen with those things. As the teacher, it could be helpful to provide experiences that demonstrate what happens when substances are heated or cooled. This could be done by reading a story or playing a video that shows those processes.
