SEP: Planning and Carrying Out Investigations:  In first grade it will be important to stress letting the investigation lead us to an answer but in order to reach that answer we have to plan and conduct a thorough investigation first.

DCI: Wave Properties: Students need to understand that energy can move in one of two ways, via particles or via waves.
