I can see some potential in this system. I particularly think this would offer some nice opportunities for my 7th grade math students who come in for Additional Practice time. This is a time where I work one-on-one with students who need extra assistance, but I also have students come in who are driven enough to operate on a self-paced schedule. Such a system would lend itself nicely to their motivation level, as well as, give me extra time with struggling students.

My main concern is creating a system that aligns nicely to my curriculum. Are courses already created that teachers can pull from? If not, I would be hard pressed to have time to create my own that was worthwhile. When considering using this system in my AP class, I can’t help but get overwhelmed by the thought of how many different lessons I would have to create for the different skills being covered at this time. If lessons were already designed and fit my curriculum, I can absolutely see myself giving it a try. I also struggle to wrap my head around keeping up with student progress and making sure students are meeting class expectations.

In terms of future use, I can’t foresee this system fully replacing teachers. While it is a handy tool for personalized learning, it is a very hands-off, limited approach to teaching. As a learner myself, I can only handle so many videos, articles, and quizzes before I am bored; I can’t imagine a student following such a system all the time.
