I use audacity frequently in preparing for my classes. It's got some great capabilities. I can change the key of a piece of music to bring it into the vocal range of the students. Tempos can be changed to make a piece easier to perform. I have also used the program to remove vocal tracks from a song which creates an accompaniment track for performances.
