Snopes.com is a resource I use when I am checking facts presented on the internet.  It has helped me on numerous occasions immediately know that information was false.  It is a good tool that helps me keep people honest. It could be used with parents, students, teachers, anyone who is sharing information that they "forgot" to fact check.
