DC Digital Literacy: Share Resource

Tyler Tassell
I use Google Docs, Drive, Presentation, Sites, and Classroom.  I really like how these work and are able to collaborate with another student or co-worker.  It is also very helpful that they can be accessed anywhere you can get onto the Internet.

The site I explored was Animoto.  Animoto seems very interesting.  I feel students would like to be able to create their own videos.  I teach an exploratory computer class for middle school students and I think they may really like this resource.

I also explored Prezi as I have a few co-workers that use it and have enjoyed what it offers.  It seems however that Prezi has a lot of the same features that Google Presentation has.  I feel like Google is constantly changing and trying to incorporate the good features people like from other resources.

Tyler -

I agree with your enthusiasm on Google Drive.  It seems to be so efficient for our students to use while collaborating on projects.  Google Drive also seems to be a great tool for teachers to collaborate on projects, near and far.  Thanks for your valuable insight.

Animoto is an excellent way to help students explain their thinking.  It has limited options, which makes it very simple and easy to learn.  I've seen students as young as 2nd grade be able to use it effectively.

I started to use Google classroom last year. I have found that I can assign anything in Classroom. The students use Google Docs to share their work with me. I like that I can post comments to help student with their writing before they turn in their work. I'd like to try putting students in groups in Google classroom so that I can view how they collaborate.
