As I taught primarily Industrial Technology, I've always found that there was a steady divide among the visual and instructional students. In exploring the resource sites, two stood out to me as being both inviting and engaging for both types of pupil.
Ed.VoiceThread would allow me to insert photo or video, record my lesson over the slideshow, and pause to show points of emphasis via drawing on the media like a sports commentator does during game breakdowns. While some students easily absorb my narrative about alleviating stresses on structure via the use of arches or triangles, others need visuals to truly understand the lesson. Also, I could link or dropbox the Ed.VoiceThread lessons so that students had a constant study guide or review at their fingertips.
Lego.com's digital designer also peaked my interests. I feel it could be used as a more approachable design module for those not interested in CAD but want a similar 3D model simulator for planning projects.
