I wish that I would have found these Symbaloos earlier in the summer. It would have been fun to look deeply into them.
I looked into...
*Realtime Board--This is a great way for kids to collaborate anything that you would write on a white board. I can see planning and researching using this resource.
*Voki--What a fun resource to spruce up lessons, as well as encourage kids to do writing of all types. The avatars will be attractive to the kids.
*Remind--I have heard of other teachers using this so personal phone numbers do not have to be shared. We need all kinds of ways to connect with families anymore.
*Padlet--Kids being able to post their ideas without the fear of another student changing them would be accomplished with Padlet. I've had trouble when students shared a Google doc of some type.
*PhotoPeach--I was able to view a slide show made with this resource. You can add music, captions, credits to make it your own. Fun!
Symbaloo--I looked into Symbaloo since this lesson used this resource extensively. Some teachers I know use Symbaloo to limit the places the kids may go; this would be helpful!
Other sources I have already used...
*Kahoot and Quizizz--I prefer the second because the kids can work at their own pace. They can be impatient having to wait for other kids and the timer to finish each question when using Kahoot. I've made all kinds of quizzes, fun and schoolwork.
*SeeSaw--I used SeeSaw for the first time last year. It is like a simplified Facebook for kids. My students found it easy to use, and it was a great way to share what we were doing in class with our families.
DropBox--We have an account at home. We can share larger files with family that are too big to email. We don't seem to have a lot of storage in the free version, though. Even deleting some old files, it still wanted me to sign up for a fee of $99 a year.
