As a music teacher that basically sees students twice a week for 25 minutes, I have not even heard of Digital Citizenship before this class. We have district wide assessments for music and concerts so there is little classtime for us to get chromebooks from their classrooms to use in music, except for testing. I do see the value of teaching digital citizenship, and I must say, as an older teacher, I have learned much about digital citizenship. The most valuable resources that I believe would work with my classes, (K-5) seem to me to be You Tube ones from Common Sense Education such as follow the digital trail and smart online search tips for kids. I also would choose ones against bullying, since kids talk about online bullying. One from Common Sense Education such as Screen Out the Mean and the Iowa Dept. of Education resources for anti bullying.
