Digital Literacey: Share Resource

Cheree Mann
Under ORGANIZATION TOOLS, I selected "Bubbl.us". This is a Mind Map - a graphical representation of ideas and concepts.  It is a Visual Thinking tool for structuring information helping students to better understand, remember and generate new ideas. This is a Brainstorming tool which can be shared with other classmates. Brainstorming is a valuable tool in the classroom for any curriculum.

Under CRITICAL THINKING, I selected "Socrative" by Mastery Connect. I was very impressed with this. The teacher can assess students in real time. The teacher can give a quiz and see the students' answers in real time - can assess knowledge, stop and discuss. The teacher, through this resource, can give a quick T/F question or a short answer quiz. This tool also has the capability of compiling detailed reports. ***** Five Stars

Under CREATIVITY, I selected "Little Bird Tales". This tool may be used for reports, journals, creative writing, commercials, history timelines, e-books, drawing, may incorporate photos, presentations and voice recording. What a wonderful and comprehensive tool for creative projects!

Under COLLABORATION, I chose "CoSketch.com". This is basically an on-line Whiteboard. Students may share ideas, problems or share a cool picture. Students' ideas will show up for all other users in the classroom in real-time. Also, Google Maps can be incorporated to show directions or share trips. This is also great for brainstorming in real-time.

Under COMMUNICATION, I chose "Voicethread". This is an excellent tool for student presentations, conversational practice, professional development, rich assessment, and is safe and accountable. Students will develop the four C's (Critical thinking, Communication, Collaboration and Creativity).
This is online collection media. Students will record their thoughts. There is also a global collaboration. In other words, a teacher could send students' work to another school or another grade, or class for an added piece:  music, art, poetry etc. Very nice idea for COMMUNICATION.

Thank you for your description of the tools that you looked at.  I had not went into most of them and that gave me more options to look at when I have a little more time to investigate.
