Digital Literacy

Kristen Wagoner
Pinterest is a site that I use frequently in my personal and professional life.  I enjoy utilizing the boards to organize and collect recipes, quotes, classroom activities and educational ideas by "pinning"
There is so much you can do with Pinterest in and out of the classroom setting.  When teaching in a classroom, I have utilized Pinterest to pin and assist me with ideas for anchor charts, craft and activity ideas, quotes about anything and everything, etc.  You really can spend hours and days on Pinterest.

Kristen, you are certainly right about being able to spend hours and days on Pinterest.  It contains so many resources for teachers, who are always looking for FREE ideas.  A co-worker has taken a class on how to utilize Pinterest in the classroom.  Students enjoy creating their own boards and looking for those containing their interests.

Agreed. Pintrest is a resource of great value to teachers--and has something for everyone. I just finished reading the book The Growth Mindset and, as one example, found wonderful poster resources for my room. The organizing boards have influenced how I plan projects and search for resources.

I love Pinterest as well.  For use in the classroom it beats using the old Mailbox Magazines for ideas.  However, that was very helpful "back when".   You don't have to search long to find ideas to make the classroom welcoming to little ones.  The problem now is narrowing it down to your favorites.
