Remind is a resource that makes communicating with parents very easy and is great to use with a group, too. I could see using this with our 4th grade team, too.
Edmodo-This is a great communication site where you can set up forms, quizzes, polls, and assignments for students. Different sub-groups can be put in. I would use this for penpals with another school to communicate with each other and to share book talks with.
Voki- This is a fun way of communicating and I'm sure the kids would love to create and personalize their Vokis.
