Is Anime Getting Better or Worse Over the Years?

ZacGibbons
The debate on whether anime is getting better or worse over the years is quite subjective. On one hand, modern anime shines with high-quality animation, advanced visuals, and greater accessibility worldwide. On the other, many fans feel today’s anime relies too heavily on repetitive genres like isekai and endless sequels, losing some of the originality and depth found in classics. While older anime often focused more on unique storytelling and emotional weight, newer anime caters to a broader audience with polished production. In the end, whether anime is improving or declining depends largely on what aspects you value most innovation, nostalgia, or sheer entertainment.

Some fans debate whether modern shows feel too polished, but the bigger shift I notice is how people watch them, especially on different devices. PPCine PC makes it easy to jump between older classics and new releases, so the contrast stands out more. Some series impress with stronger animation and pacing, others miss the charm of past eras, but having everything in one place highlights how much the medium keeps experimenting rather than simply getting better or worse.

Jujutsu Kaisen characters bring the story to life with their unique abilities and powerful emotions woven through each chapters. Their battles, growth, and personal struggles shape the series into an intense and engaging journey. As the chapters unfold, these characters create a world that keeps both anime and manga fans deeply invested.

I think anime has changed more than it’s gotten better or worse. Series like Jujutsu Kaisen show how strong character writing and long-term development can still carry a story, especially when manga and anime complement each other. A lot of fans now follow both formats closely to see how themes and character arcs evolve over time. I’ve noticed that having access to manga reading tools and extensions makes it easier to compare older series with newer ones and really see how storytelling styles have shifted over the years. That mix of nostalgia and modern pacing is probably why opinions feel so divided.
