A great way to promote digital literacy in the classroom could be to start a Facebook page for a particular class.
The teacher and students could then have an open dialogue about certain issues in that class.  They could be required to respond to each other as well, similar to this.  Peer review and criticism through digital media can let the students get a better understanding of ideas other than their own.
