Remind

Remind has been a very valuable digital tool for me.  I am able to reach out quickly to my athletes and parents with important information quickly and safely.

I also think Remind is a fantastic tool for educators. I have been on the parent side of that and it is extremely helpful for opening lines of communication. When used effectively, it is a great way to keep parents in the loop.

I have to agree. I love Remind. It's so much easier to monitor from my texts than getting buried in my email box. Especially in our busy lives and a deadline could get missed for a performance, a yearbook, an assignment, an order, a meet.

I have used Remind with students in the past when we go off campus and they drive themselves.  I've used it as a reminder tool (go figure), but also a check in to make sure everyone got to where they needed to go safely.  I have never thought about using it to keep parents in the loop, but what a wonderful idea!  And you're right, so much easier than getting emails all day long and so quick!

I have not used Remind yet, so I apparently have not eve thought out all of the possibilities of this app yet.  Of course, I was going to use it as a way to communicate between students, teachers and parents for important upcoming events and such.  Your post gave me the idea of having students use it to check in with staff during the day as they are gaining independence in the community.  Since we are teaching students to ride the city bus, this application could be used to communicate arrivals to multiple people, so that we are ensuring that everyone is safely getting where they need to go.

I have not used Remind, but have used other group texting apps with youth groups at church.  I just retired from teaching high school special education students.  I did not personally give out my cell phone number to students, but can see that this app is useful for coaches or church youth leaders.  

I have used Remind for a couple of years to get information out to parents.  It is very helpful during a musical to get out rehearsal times - especially if they go longer or we have to change a time, for costume information and performance dates.  It cuts down on a lot of questions parents might have if they sign up for this great service.  I also received the benefits of it this year as they used it at the county fair to send out push notifications of who needed to report on what day for showing animals and for the 4-H projects.  I was also part of the Remind app for an honor choir my kids were involved in.  It really helped the hosts make sure that parents were there at the right time to pick up their children from rehearsals and where to grab them from after they performed.  Very beneficial and so so easy to use.

I have used Remind as a teacher before and it was very helpful at communicating with students without sharing your personal phone number.  I have only used it to communicate with students before but I can see how it would be also be very beneficial in communicating with parents and families.

My husband has found this is a good tool for him with athletes and club information and updates as well.

I have not used Remind myself, but I know the instrumental teachers in my district use it to communicate with parents about schedules, etc.  It has been especially important in this year of cancelations!

I agree; I have been on both the parent and educator side of Remind and I find it very helpful.  As an educator, it is a simple and effective way to communicate to students and parents.  As a parent, I feel the more information I get the better.  If I don't know what is going on I can't help my child.

I had heard of Remind, but have no experience with it.  After reading all these comments I really need to give it a try.

I LOVE remind.  It seems easier for the parents to view instead of email.  It's in a form of a text message rather that a lengthly email!! :)  

I have to agree that Remind is incredibly helpful because the information will not get buried away in someone’s inbox. Both of my daughters have had to use it throughout their schooling and thought that it was helpful.

The school district that I'm in has used Remind for a lot of different things like : music teacher uses it to remind the parents that they have a concert for sunrise singers or practice in the mornings. , good idea.
