I have used Kahoot many times in the past to review or check the students understanding. Students find it to be engaging and fun which makes for a better learning environment. It is also super easy to make and for the students to join the live game. I don't use Kahoot as much in my new role but if I ever needed a review game or something to check my students understanding, I would more than likely use Kahoot!
I've used Kahoot a lot of well and it works as a great review game! I've started noticing that my students are getting burned out of playing Kahoot, though, because they play it in all of their classes. One of my coworkers has started using Blooket instead and kids seem to really enjoy that as well. But, now that all of my Kahoots are made and easily acessible, I don't want to have to recreate them in a new program. :)
