SPLS Dee Clark

I think the there are two areas this system can really assist students. First, students who are not achieving as traditional students for whatever reason could benefit from this system. They could use the system for credit recovery or just to complete the basic requirements for graduation as a non-traditional student. Second, high achieving students who are done with the basics and do not have access to a local college setting could find course work they are interested in.

An addition that I think would be beneficial is offering AP courses. Having AP courses for all Iowa kids would benefit students that are living in districts that currently do not have AP options.

I think huge challenges for this kind of system will be making technology accessible to all Iowa kids and keeping up with the kids’ interests, constructing classes that are interesting and meaningful.

Hi Dee!

I really appreciate your post as you have shared some great points!  To be honest, I had not thought of tradition vs non-traditional students and the idea of using this as a method of credit recovery is ingenious! I also think as you do that it's a wonderful opportunity to use the SPLS as an AP class/platform, especially in the smaller schools around the state that aren't able to offer AP courses for their students.

Thanks for sharing Dee!

I want to express my gratitude for your writing schoolboy runaway because you have brought up some really valid points.  To tell you the truth, I had not considered the concept of conventional students as opposed to non-traditional students, and the concept of using this as a form of credit recovery is brilliant!

One reason stickman hook appeals to all kinds of players is its versatility. You can play it for a few minutes or for hours, casually or competitively. It adapts to your mood — quick fun when you’re bored, or focused challenge when you want to test your skills. This flexibility makes it one of the best casual games to keep on your phone or school laptop for whenever you need a mental reset.

I completely agree about the technology accessibility challenge - it's crucial for equitable education. When I need a mental break from intensive studying, I often play puzzle games like those on Suika Game to refresh my focus. The platform has various engaging games that help me decompress between study sessions. Your point about AP course availability is spot-on; rural students especially deserve those advanced opportunities that urban districts often take for granted.
