Share Resource

I looked at a lot of the sites that were listed, I wanted to share one of those that I've used very successfully.

I have used Today's Meet todaysmeet.com with classes as we are watching videos in my Economics classroom.  It is a site that you open Temporary rooms where you post using 140 characters just like twitter.  I tell them they have to post 10 times with information that they found interesting or surprised them.

It allows them to stay focused on the material and I can monitor the posts to make sure they are appropriate and that they are watching all the way through.

The kids like it as it is something they are familiar with and is better than taking notes or falling asleep!

I looked at Delicious social bookmarking.  It is cool because you can share your bookmarks with others.  When working together on a  project, everyone can see the bookmarks and of course the sites.

I thought that ToonDoo-comic strip site would be really cool to use in Personal Finance or in Econ.  They can make 3 panel cartoon strips about topics in the classes or even current events as they effect the business world in relation to our topics in Economics.  It looks like it would be fun for the kids and a way to use differentiated instruction.

All very cool I thought!

I also thought the ToonDoo would be a very neat resource to use, even in the elementary setting.  It looks like a quick and easy way to assess the kids' knowledge when they think they are just "having fun".
