Kid Blog seems like a great way for students to share their ideas and write about various topics across subject areas.  It would be a great way for students to write about how math intersects with the real world and then be able to read other classmates' writings and comment on them.  It would be great to have control over the blogs and how they get shared with the world around them.  Students would not have to worry about their writings being public to everyone on the internet.

You have a great idea with blogging. I think if we can get students blogging more and responding to others, there could be so much deeper connections to what they are learning.
