Some history texts/sources make it difficult because they do not teach history in order of the events. In my option this confuses students. SO, you could create a time line for them for greater clarity or have them create a time line for you to show they understand history and order of events.

Great idea! I also think this could be a good tool for students to create a timeline of their own personal family history.  Especially after doing a genealogy search as part of their history class.
